What is Non Destructive Digging?
Non Destructive Digging is also commonly called Vacuum Excavation, Potholing, Hydro Excavation or Hydro Trenching. The basic process is always the same, pressurised water and a vacuum source to remove the material and exposing under ground assets.

Serious equipment for a series job
Depending on the task, the soil is vacuumed via a 4” 6” or 8” tube trough a 360 degree hydraulic rotating boom. This eliminates the need for operators to lift the heavy vacuum hose.

This process allows for quick, clean and precise evacuations which require less backfill, less labour force, less restoration, and less environmental impact than conventional digging methods. A controlled water stream flow allows for surgeon-like accuracy, while removing only material necessary for repair or inspection.

Total Drain Cleaning has a complete and self-contained units which are comprised of several pieces of equipment. The complete package is absolutely necessary to provide the most efficient service to the customer. The units are also equipped with the latest drain cleaning equipment, with the bonus feature of a push rod CCTV, cable and pipe locator all rolled into one unit.

360 Degrees Rotating Boom
Total Drain Cleaning’s Jet-Vac units with its 360 degree rotating boom, can reach even the most hard to reach pits. Combined with an 8” vacuum hose, this enables Total Drain Cleaning to tackle even the most difficult to access jobs. The boom and vacuum hose is designed for maximum vacuum and minimum blockages. With the added bonus of being able to lift heavy man hole lids of up to 400kgs with its hydraulic boom, which make cleaning drains a whole lot easier.

Recycle/Power Pump Off
Total Drain Cleaning’s Jet-Vac unit can pump off liquid at the same time as jetting and vacuuming, sewer and stormwater lines. This is ideal for small sewer diversions. The unit is able to pump off liquid at a rate of 1,000 litres per minute, and also has the option to divert the liquid back into the water tank for further jetting use.
